Major research topics i) Photoelectrochemical water splitting;ii) Photocatalysis;iii) Green hydrogen production;iv) Nanomaterials;v) Semiconductor materials. The Laboratory of Artificial Photosynthesis conducts research on nanoscale semiconductor and ceramic materials, aiming to understand their structural and electronic properties for renewable energy generation. Our main focus is exploring their potential in water splitting, a promising method for producing environmentally friendly hydrogen. By employing band engineering process such as doping, defect formation, heterojunction creation, and cocatalyst deposition, we fine-tune the semiconductor band structures to enhance their efficiency in water splitting reactions. Additionally, we optimize the reaction processes to scale up hydrogen production, with the ultimate goal of making green hydrogen commercially viable as a sustainable energy source.
