IFSC Research Committee
The IFSC Research Committee has the following institutional competences:
(i) To propose to the Institute Board of Professors ("Congregação") initiatives that promote scientific development;
(ii) To propose criteria and to coordinate the drafting of institutional research projects;
(iii) To advise on partnerships and research projects as requested by the Director's office;
(iv) To inform the Research Provost's office about new Post-doctoral programs after approval by the respective Departmental board of Professors;
(v) To receive, establish, analyse and prioritize proposals for implementing institutional grants from public or private bodies not linked to the Undergraduate or Graduate Committees.
In addition, the Research Committee should foster new directions in research involving areas of great national and international interest. When appropriate this committee should also encourage researchers to redirect their research activities in order to tackle relevant and more modern problems thus becoming more visible internationally.
