Paper: Rationalization of the Borg’s BD3 binding site

AlphaFold came to change the game! Here, aided by an AF model, we have dissected the binding interface of Borg’s BD3 motif to the heterodimeric septin coiled coil SEPT6-SEPT7. It interacts with the furrow formed by the helices of the parallel CC. Upon binding in vitro, it leads to an exacerbated septin polymerization. The manuscript also contains polymerization studies on CTD-truncated septin subunits.
