Prof. Marcos de Oliveira Junior holds a BSc (2007) in experimental and theoretical physics and a MSc (2009) and PhD (2014) in Sciences with emphasis on Applied Physics from the University of São Paulo (USP). In 2019 he became an Assistant Professor of the São Carlos Institute of Physics IFSC-USP. His research experience is in the area of solid state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and pulsed Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR). Particularly, he is interested in the development and structural/ functional characterization of hybrid organic-inorganic compounds, such as sol-gel derivatives, metal-organic frameworks and composite materials. In 2015 he spent four months as a guest researcher in the group of Prof. Gunnar Jeschke at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, working with pulsed EPR techniques for the characterization of NO adducts of borane-phosphane frustrated Lewis pairs. From beginning 2018 to end 2019 he worked as a posdoc in the group of Prof. Gerd buntkowsky at TU Darmstadt, Germany, with a CAPES-Humboldt scholarship. His main topic there was the structural characterization of polymeric and functional materials by Dynamic Nuclear Polarization NMR techniques. He is since 2019 an alumni member of the Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Foundation. He is reviewer of the following scientific journals: Sensors (MDPI), Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids (Elsevier), Applied Sciences (MDPI) and Materials (MDPI).
