CP2 skyrmion crystals and other solitonic orderings in SU(3) chiral magnets

Magnetic skyrmions, two-dimensional topological spin textures, have been extensively studied for over a decade. Recent research on topological spin textures has extended beyond skyrmions, exploring new types of spin configurations in diverse magnetic environments. In this context, we investigate an exotic class of spin systems called SU(N) chiral magnets. SU(N) magnets are a generalization of the conventional SU(2) spin systems, where local spin operators possess SU(N) degrees of freedom. The term SU(N) chiral magnet refers to SU(N) magnets without inversion symmetry. Due to their large degrees of freedom and intrinsic chirality, these systems are expected to host a variety of exotic topological textures and novel topological phases. In this talk, we will study the ground state structure of SU(3) chiral magnets and show that they exhibit various exotic phases, for example, CP2 skyrmion crystal, CP2 skyrmionium checkerboard, and CP2 helical phase. We also discuss properties of the phases using topological charge and dipole- (quadrupole-)structure factor.
