Structural and Functional Biology of Tumor Metabolism
Big News for our Structural Biology Community!
We’re beyond excited to announce the arrival of new cryo-electron microscopes at our facility, a giant leap enabled by FAPESP’s 2022 Scientific Multi-User Equipment Program. A heartfelt thank you to FAPESP, IFSC/USP and CIERMag for their unwavering support.
Introducing the Tundra Cryo-TEM and Aquilos 2 Cryo-FIB-SEM-iFLM from Thermo Fisher Scientific, these cutting-edge tools are set to revolutionize our research capabilities, offering unparalleled insights insights on our favorite proteins, both isolated and right inside the cells!
But here’s the part that makes this even more special for us: these instruments will complement an open-access infrastructure network across South America, dedicated to biological cryo-EM, along with LNNano, CENABio, CEBEM, and others.
As we unpack seventeen crates and nearly six tons of technology, the anticipation builds. There’s work to be done – building adaptation before installation begins, but the potential is boundless.
We’re on the brink of exploring new frontiers in structural biology, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to embark on this journey with such a motivated scientific community.
