This edition of the Meet the Editors will occur in two places: São Paulo/SP (Oct, 1–2), at the main campus of USP, and Natal/RN (Oct, 4–5), at the International Institute of Physics (IIP). This year's event will feature minicourses on scientific writing by Prof. S. Lance Cooper (Associate Head for Graduate Programs, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), and seminars by Profs. Laura Greene (National MagLab and Florida State University), Laurens Molenkamp (University of Würzburg and editor of Physical Review B), Henrik Rudolph (Editor-in-chief Applied Surface Science), and Drs. Priya Satalkar (University of Basel) and Kim-Zajonz (Physical Review Applied) on a variety of topics, e.g., academic misconduct, authorship, bibliometrics, etc. We will have a roundtable to discuss important issues such as plagiarism, fraud, peer reviewing, open access journal vs. archival journals, impact factors, ethics in research and publishing, and other related subjects. As in the previous editions, a “tutorial for authors and referees” will be delivered by the APS editors Prof. Laurens Molenkamp and Dr. Kim-Zajonz.
